MM2H Requirement

The Ministry of Tourism has announced that in future there will be three tiers.
NEW 2024 MM2H Requirements for Visa Permit



Note

All of the tiers require the holder to spend at least 60 days a year here although it seems their dependents can fulfil this requirement. Eligible dependents who are permitted to join the programme have been specified as - spouse, children under 21, parents and parents-in-law, disabled children of any age, and unmarried children aged 21 to 34. In all cases, half the FD can be withdrawn after one year for house purchase or medical expenses. We are still awaiting clarification on the minimum monthly income required to be eligible for the visa, although they may have removed this requirement. The existing programme requires proof of income of RM40,000 per month.

Medical Report

After approval of the application, all applicants and their dependents (spouse and children) must submit a medical report. This medical report should be obtained from any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

Medical Insurance

After approval of the application, all applicants and their dependents (spouse and children) must possess and be covered by a valid medical insurance policy which is applicable in Malaysia. This requirement is waived, i.e. not necessary, for applicants above 59 years of age.

Restrictions

Participants under Malaysia My Second Home Programmer are not allowed to work/be employed while staying in Malaysia. In addition, they should not participate in activities that can be considered as sensitive to the local people and a threat to the security of the country. However you can get permission to work part time if above 50 years old.


Note:
  • Fixed Deposits accounts can only be opened in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) for successful applicants. 
  • The Ministry of Tourism must grant approval to a participant who wishes to withdraw from the Fixed Deposit. 
  • Should a participant of this programme wish to terminate their stay in Malaysia, they may withdraw their entire Fixed Deposit. However, the Ministry of Tourism must grant approval prior to withdrawal.

Ensure all documents are certified and translations provided for non-English documents.

Important Notes

1 All copies must be certified TRUE COPIES OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS by EMBASSY/HIGH COMMISSION/NOTARY PUBLIC and COMMISSIONER OF OATHS REGISTERED IN MALAYSIA/GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL.
2 Where original documents are not in ENGLISH, translation must be done by a qualified translator and CERTIFIED.
3 Dependent(s) refer to:
  • Spouse
  • Children aged below 21 years (maximum 6 months before reaching 21 years old at the time of application) and not married
  • Parent(s) of the main applicant aged 60 years and above
4 Application to include parent(s) as dependents is to be submitted AFTER the main applicant’s application has been approved.
5 All documents enclosed with the present application become the property of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Centre and will not be returned.

For Approved Participants

1 For dependents added after the application has been approved, a Personal Bond has to be submitted for each dependent.
2 The Personal Bond Form must be stamped (RM10.00) by the Stamping Office in Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia.
3 The amount chargeable is according to the Country of Origin of the applicant/participant. Please refer to the Rate of Security/Personal Bond by Country.

Required Documents from Appointed MM2H Licensed Company

1 Cover letter from MM2H licensed company (Surat iringan daripada Syarikat Berlesen MM2H).
  • Licensed Company is required to summarize all financial information provided by the applicant in the cover letter.
2 One (1) copy of the company's MM2H license which is still valid (Salinan lesen syarikat berlesen MM2H yang masih sah tempoh).
3 Letter of confirmation on employment of representative under the MM2H Licensed Company (Surat pengesahan wakil sebagai pekerja di bawah Syarikat Berlesen MM2H).
  • Submissions of applications by employees of the MM2H Licensed Company other than Managing Director/Manager must include the above letter confirming the employment of that person.
4 One (1) copy of the MyKad of the Board of Director/Shareholder/Managing Director/Manager who signed the Personal Bond (Salinan kad pengenalan Lembaga Pengarah/Pemegang Saham/Pengarah Urusan/Pengurus yang menandatangani Bon Peribadi).
5 Sponsor Declaration Form (must be completed by MM2H licensed company) (Borang kenyataan Penaja perlu dilengkapkan oleh syarikat berlesen MM2H).
6 Letter of Confirmation from the Tourism Licensing Division, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia if the MM2H license is not available (due to renewal or change of company’s particulars) (Surat pengesahan daripada Bahagian Pelesenan Pelancongan, Kementerian Pelancongan Dan Kebudayaan Malaysia sekiranya tidak dapat mengemukakan lessen syarikat).
