MM2H Program Tiers

Three tiers based on financial capability

The Ministry of Tourism has announced that in future there will be three tiers. All tiers require spending at least 60 days a year in Malaysia.

Important Information

  • All tiers require the holder to spend at least 60 days a year in Malaysia
  • Dependents can fulfil the minimum stay requirement
  • Half of the Fixed Deposit can be withdrawn after one year for house purchase or medical expenses
  • The remaining half must be maintained throughout the stay in Malaysia
  • Fixed Deposit accounts must be opened in Ringgit Malaysia (RM)

Medical Requirements

  • Medical report from any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia
  • Valid medical insurance policy applicable in Malaysia
  • Medical insurance waiver for applicants above 59 years
  • Health declaration form (Form RB I) must be completed
  • All medical tests must be conducted at approved medical centers

Financial Requirements

  • Proof of sufficient financial resources
  • Fixed Deposit in Ringgit Malaysia (RM)
  • 50% withdrawal allowed after one year for specific purposes
  • Maintain 50% of FD throughout stay in Malaysia
  • Bank statements from last three months required

Dependent Eligibility

  • Spouse of the main applicant
  • Children under 21 years old
  • Parents and parents-in-law
  • Disabled children (no age limit)
  • Unmarried children aged 21 to 34 years

General Requirements

  • Letter of Good Conduct from government agency
  • No criminal record in Malaysia or home country
  • Part-time work permission for those above 50 years
  • No employment allowed (except part-time for 50+)
  • Business investments and passive income permitted

Complete application forms for each applicant and dependent included in the application.

IM.12 Form

Three copies of the Social Visit Pass application form for immigration processing.

Passport-sized Photographs

Four colored passport-sized photographs (35mm x 50mm) with white background for each person.

Certified Passport Copy

Certified true copy of Passport/Travel Documents with at least 12 months validity.

Personal Bond

Personal bond form completed by the main applicant only for compliance assurance.

Letter of Good Conduct

Certificate from relevant government agency confirming no criminal record.

Health Declaration Form RB I

Completed health declaration form signed by applicant and certified by doctor.

Marriage and Birth Certificates

Certified true copies of marriage certificates (if married) and birth certificates for dependents.

Bank Statements or Payslips

Certified copies of bank statements or payslips from the last three months showing financial capability.

Financial Authorization Letter

Authorization letter for financial documentation verification and processing.

Document Certification Requirements

  • All copies must be certified TRUE COPIES OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS
  • Certification by EMBASSY/HIGH COMMISSION/NOTARY PUBLIC required
  • Commissioner of Oaths registered in Malaysia can certify documents
  • Government officials authorized to certify official documents
  • Non-English documents must be translated by qualified translator
  • Translated documents must be CERTIFIED by respective embassy or notary public
